How do I… Life? exists so real parents can ask "how do I solve this?" — a product nobody's built, or a local service nobody offers — and vote on what should exist. These rules keep it useful and safe.
Family-friendly, always
No explicit, sexual, violent or hateful content. Posts are automatically screened before they publish and anything that slips through can be reported in one tap.
Protect your kids' privacy
Never post your child's full name, school, address, daily schedule, or identifiable photos. Describe the problem, not the child.
Post problems, not pitches
No affiliate links, promo codes, or ads. Whether you want a product built or a local service to exist, describe the gap — don't sell your own.
Be kind to other parents
Different families make different choices. Critique the product, never the parent. Harassment gets accounts removed.
How pricing signals work
Every post asks two money questions: what you spend on this problem today (per year), and the most you'd pay for the product or service that solves it. That turns a wish list into a demand signal makers can act on — a problem with 400 upvotes at "$75-$200" is a very different business than 400 upvotes at "under $25".
